The Challenge

We were commissioned to prepare a comprehensive masterplan for a strategic regeneration of a substantial land parcel in Dumbarton. The A82 trunk road passed through the middle of the potential site, with former bonded warehouses to one side and vacant undeveloped land to the other. A key aspect of the proposal was to secure planning permission for a major new roundabout on the trunk road, which would open up access to the wider site.

The Response

Working in collaboration with a mutli-disciplinary design team, we devised a deliverable masterplan which would realistically allow the phased construction of the entire project over a 10-15 year period. We were then engaged to work on the enabling & infrastructure contracts and continued with detailed design and delivery on specific development parcels. Lomondgate is now established as a new destination serving both as a gateway to Loch Lomond & The Trossachs and as an entrance to Dumbarton itself.
