The Challenge

We were engaged by the new building owner halfway through a live refurbishment contract, involving complex enabling works to link separate front & rear buildings, to create a stripped out enhanced shell. We were then to take on the project to deliver new Grade A office space over 7 levels, including highly sensitive restoration works to the Grade B Listed façade.

The Response

Working in close collaboration with Historic Environment Scotland and the local authority heritage officers, we agreed and implemented an appropriate scope of remedial works to the façade, which has transformed the impact of this handsome Georgian building in a prime business location in Glasgow City Centre. The internal refurbishment has been transformational, including a new toilet and vertical circulation core, accessible floors and ceilings, new M&E systems throughout, creating 2,225m² of flexible modern open plan office space.
